Vinnie was the loving husband of Nancy (Normandin) Foden with whom they shared 29 years of marriage, living at their home in Canterbury, NH.
Born in Medford, MA, on November 8, 1936, he was the oldest son of seven boys to the late Vincent Foden, Sr. and Helen (Carline) Foden.
Vinnie was a graduate of Medford Vocational High School where he learned the trade of Precision Sheet Metal Fabrication, a skill, along with Trigonometry and others, he used throughout his working life. After graduation, he followed in his father’s footsteps as a model maker at Raytheon. While at Raytheon, he left for a short time to help Avco. While at Avco, one of Vinnie’s proudest achievements was to build the Apollo 11 Lunar Landing Module as part of the United States Space Program in the early 1970’s.
Many of his passions in life were working around his home being the extraordinary craftsman in woodworking and many other skills.
He built oak medicine cabinets which he won recognition from the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. Also, Vinnie would personally produce many copper and stainless-steel gift items for his family.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed the many camping and fishing trips to his waterfront property on Horseshoe Pond in Lovell, Maine.
He hunted for deer in New Hampshire and the Northern Maine, Allagash, along with other regions.
Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife Nancy and his true companion beagle, Bandit, who always kept them very busy.
Family was a very large part of Vinnie and he loved the many holiday and birthday celebrations with his wife, Nancy and his seven children: Denise M.Delaney, Middleton MA; Vincent Foden, III, Sterling MA; Pamela J. Foden, Middleton MA; Joseph Foden, Manchester NH; Thomas Foden, Concord NH; Alana Foden, Hudson NH; Aaron Foden, Livermore ME, and their families. Children by marriage: Shelly Cote of Pembroke NH and Michael Normandin of Gilford NH and their families.
He loved his grandchildren (12) of them as they matured, sports, dance competitions, birthday parties, college and much more.
Vinnie is survived by his wife, of 29 years, Nancy Foden of Canterbury, NH.
Brothers, Stanley (Ted) of Derry NH, Paul C. Foden of Windham NH, William (Billy) Foden of Derry NH, Kenneth Foden of Laconia NH and their families. Also, many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his brothers, Robert Foden and Jack Foden. Also a granddaughter, Amanda Foden formerly of Lebanon, NH.
The family of Vinnie will be planning a celebration of life in the very near future.
