An Indian Football Club Just Added Mental Health Experts to The Team

We are publishing a series of stories to coincide with World Mental Health Day on Saturday, Oct. 10. It raises awareness about the importance of mental health and advocates against social stigmas. These are challenging and stressful times. According to the World Health Organization, half of all mental illnesses begin by the age of 14 but most cases go undetected and untreated. Let’s make the world a kinder and happier place for all to live in.

In January, 20-year-old Suresh Singh Wangjam made his first team debut with football club Bengaluru FC (BFC) in the Indian Super League (ISL). The performance was impressive and he soon became a permanent fixture in coach Carles Cuadrat’s plans, featuring in every game for the rest of the season.

Executive Club of Staten Island donates total of $10K to RUMC and SIUH in honor of health professionals

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Members of the Executive Club of Staten Island visited Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC) and Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) North on Sept. 16, presenting each facility with a check for $5,000.

The donation came as a result of a unanimous vote among its members to give back to the community in the aftermath of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

“While our Club’s primary purpose isn’t focused on charitable giving, we all felt a need to recognize the courage, compassion, and dedication of our local health professionals during the COVID crisis,” said Pamela Columbia, President of The Executive Club of Staten Island.

Columbia, along with fellow Board Members Michael Bloomfield, Regina Boukhvalova, Dominick Ciccarelli and John Tapinis presented the checks to hospital officials at each location.
