By now, it may already be clear to everyone that Nate Robinson is a human spring. Currently he plays point guard for the New York Knicks and is known for his dazzling slashing ability and rim rattling dunks. Standing only a 5 foot 7 inches tall, so how does Nate Robinson slam dunk?
In the 2006 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, he dunked over former champion Spud Webb, and repeated that feat by slam dunking over Dwight Howard in the 2009 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. He won the slam dunk title in both years. Moreover, blocking a shot against the 7 foot 6 inches tall Yao Ming was an amazing feat.
The Nate Robinson dunk simply means having a vertical leap of 45 inches! His slam dunk exercises include 4-days a week and one hour a day program.
Day One (One hour)
- Jumping rope for 400 to 800 jumps
- Sprint and drop, meaning sprinting fast up and down the court and suddenly dropping to do some push-ups and sprint again for 10 to 20 times
- Doing the figure eight motion using a 12 pound medicine ball in sitting position with a stability ball. Limit the movement of your body as little as possible then repeat the motion 20 to 25 times and another set in opposite motion
- Inclined sit-ups or chest press 20 times per set for 2 sets
- Standing dumbbell curl in alternate motion for 20 times per set for 2 sets.
- Single arm triceps extension. In a seated position put the weights behind the head and slowly move up until arm is pointing straight up.
Day Two (One hour)
- Jumping rope for 400 to 800 jumps
- Knee-raise sprint for the whole length of basketball court. Raise your knees as high as possible while running for 20 to 50 sprints.
- Then continually repeat the day 1 program and day 2 program to complete this slam dunk exercises.
