Two probable deaths were added Tuesday to the McHenry County COVID-19 dashboard. The first two probable deaths were identified and posted on the county dashboard over four weeks ago, Public Health Nursing Director Susan Karras said.
Probable deaths are defined as situations in which COVID-19 caused or contributed to the death of a person, and the case was symptomatic, epi-linked to a confirmed case or outbreak but was not confirmed with a test, according to the McHenry County Health Department.
“We conduct our investigation and classify [each] death as confirmed or probable,” Karras said Wednesday. “Once the investigations are completed, we add to our data set on the dashboard. Two were completed yesterday and added to the first [two] that were completed several weeks ago.”
